It is normally thought that the planning of the wedding is the bride's job, however, you, as the groom, have a major role to play so you should at least have some idea of what will be expected of you. Here is a list of some suggested duties:

1. Suggest writing an engagement announcement.

2. Make list of guests you would like to invite and start a spreadsheet with names and addresses.

3. Help work out a wedding budget.

4. Choose a Best Man and Groomsmen.

5. Meet with your Best Man and discuss responsibilities.

6. Set-up formalwear options for your Groomsmen.

7. Shop for wedding bands with your bride-to-be.

8. Help choose boutonniere for your Groomsmen.

10. Suggest taking dance lessons.

11. Book a hotel or other location for your wedding night.

12. Find maps and other transportation resources to assist your guests with their plans to attend your big day.

13. Set up a date for you and your bride-to-be to obtain the Marriage License.
